Authentic icon "Archangel Michael IV"

"Archangel Michael is the main archangel, the main guardian of the heavenly kingdom and the chief guardian of God's law. Archangel Michael guards the body of Moses, and brings the souls of the dead to heaven, or hell. He is one of the four archangels in the Old Testament along with Gabriel, Raphael and Uriel, and one of the seven archangels of the Bible. He is believed to have helped God in the creation of the Earth. Archangel Michael is also the leader of the angels, and the patron saint of soldiers. His face is usually found at the entrance of Orthodox churches, depicted with a sword and a scripture, urging us to enter the church temple with a pure heart, and pure thoughts," shared Ventsislav.

The icon is created using materials and paints according to the original technology for making of Orthodox icons. Gold leaf, patina, and cracking varnish were used, to make the icon look even more authentic. The icon is painted with egg tempera paint, as per the traditional technology for icon painting.
