Authentic, handmade icon "Creation"

If Christianity is the language of all believers in the name of our God and Savior - Jesus Christ, then the icon is the alphabet through which we write this language! The icon is a biblical scene from the Old Testament. It depicts how God created man from clay, followed by the creation of the plants and animals, on Earth.

The materials and paints used are based on original technology for creation of Orthodox icons. The texture of the frame is handmade, using old Byzantine technology. It is done via accumulation of the material, which requires a lot of time. The drawing is done with egg tempera paints, according to a classic recipe. Patina and various varnishes were used to give the icon an aged look. Cracking varnish was also added, for greater authenticity of the icon.

This lovely work of art is signed by the artist, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
