Authentic Icon "Creation II"

If Christianity is the language of all believers in the name of our God and Savior - Jesus Christ, then the icon is the alphabet through which we write this language! The icon is a biblical scene from the Old Testament. It depicts how God created man from clay, and then together with him created the animals and plants of the earth.

The materials and paints used are based on original technology for making Orthodox icons. The relief of the frame is handmade using old Byzantine technology. It is done incrementally and takes a long time. A gold ingot was used for gilding. The drawing is with egg tempera according to a classic recipe. Patina and various varnishes were used for aging, as well as cracking varnish for greater authenticity of the icon.

This lovely work of art is signed by the artist, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
