Authentic, handmade icon "St. Venerable Joan of Rila - The Miracle Worker" depicted with scenes from everyday life.

Saint Venerable Joan of Rila - The Miracle Worker - is a Bulgarian clergyman, and monk. He is considered to be the greatest Bulgarian saint, heavenly protector, and patron of the Bulgarian people. He is the patron and founder of the largest monastery in Bulgaria - The Rila Monastery. He is the patron saint of the Bulgarian revivalists. Even during his lifetime, he was called an "earthly angel" and a "heavenly inhabitant".

Along with his image, the icon depicts his ascension, and the procession of his relics being taken out of The Rila Monastery. There are also 10 scenes, which depict the most important moments of his life.

The materials and paints used to create the icon are based on original technology for making of Orthodox icons. The textures are handmade, using old Byzantine technology. Gold varnish, various other varnishes, patina, and cracking varnish are used for greater authenticity of the icon. This method ensures that the icon comes as close as possible, to the appearance of the old, original icons in the churches.
