Authentic icon "St. Mina"

St. Mina was a soldier in Egypt. He professed the Christian faith, and because of this, he was cut with a sword in 296 under Diocletian and Maximian. Today we honor St. Mina as the patron saint of the family. His name means "Moon". A famous miracle worker, he is the patron saint of orphans, and the homeless. He is considered the patron and protector of all folk healers, healers, warriors, as well as people who have taken a long journey. St. Mina also protects women, so they pray to the icon of the saint for the health of their children, for the joy and well-being of the home.

The icon is created using materials and paints according to the original technology for making of Orthodox icons. Gold leaf, patina, and cracking varnish were used, to make the icon look even more authentic. The icon is painted with egg tempera paint, as per the traditional technology for icon painting.
