Authentic Icon "Holy Virgin Divine Light"

The light in the icons of the Virgin has its metaphysical foundations, and the reason is the person of Christ, who is the light of the world, and this light was born through the Virgin. I will refer to a paraphrase from the gospel by the holy apostle and evangelist John: "All things were made by reference to the light, and without it nothing was made that was made." Through the incarnation of Christ in the womb of the Pure One and She becomes the source of the Light, the way to the Light, She herself becomes the light.

The icon is created using materials and paints according to the original technology for making of Orthodox icons. Gold leaf, patina, and cracking varnish were used, to make the icon look even more authentic. The icon is painted with egg tempera paint, as per the traditional technology for icon painting.
