Authentic, handmade icon "Holy Virgin of Eleusis"

"In the icon painting of the Christian religion, the most significant and revered are the images of the Holy Mother of God, along with that of our God and Savior Jesus Christ. It is not by chance that the icons of both are placed first on the right and left of the royal doors leading to the altar of the royal order of the iconostasis in the church. St. Mary is irrevocably next to the son of God throughout his journey from birth to his crucifixion. In Christian iconography, she is depicted as a loving mother showing the path of the infant in his future life. It is no coincidence that in the largest Bulgarian monasteries there are miraculous icons of the Holy Mother, in which she performs miracles, helping those seeking help and comfort by praying in front of her image," says Wencislav.

The icon is created using materials and paints according to the original technology for making of Orthodox icons. Gold leaf, patina, and cracking varnish were used, to make the icon look even more authentic. The icon is painted with egg tempera paint, as per the traditional technology for icon painting.
