In ancient Greek mythology, there is a legend about the beautiful nymph Clytia and her unrequited love for the sun god, Apollo. Clytia was fascinated by the splendor and majesty of Apollo, who crossed the sky every day in his chariot.
When Apollo did not return her feelings, Clytia fell into deep sorrow. She spent nine days and nights sitting on the ground, constantly looking at the sun and following its movement across the sky. Finally, the gods took pity on her and turned her into a sunflower, a flower that always turns towards the sun.
Thus, Clytia remained forever connected to her lover, symbolizing fidelity and eternal love. Sunflowers have since been considered a symbol of devotion and light, always seeking the sun, as Clytia sought Apollo.
This work was inspired by nature.
It can be made to order, but they are always unique. The width is always the same, due to the specifics of the loom. The length can be customized.
